About Us
Wickersley Youngstars is a musical theatre company for young people aged 10 to 25, offering a vibrant, supportive space for creativity to shine. Founded in 2010, our journey began with our very first production, Back to the 80s, performed at Wickersley School. In 2013, we moved to our new performance home at the Rotherham Civic Theatre, debuting with Joseph and His Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat and we’ve proudly performed there ever since.
At Wickersley Youngstars, our ethos is simple: to nurture confidence, talent, and a love of performing in an encouraging and inclusive environment. One of our greatest joys is watching young performers grow, from joining the company for fun, to developing skills, stepping into the spotlight, and taking on leading roles over time.
Everyone is welcome and we pride ourselves on being a group where young people can express themselves freely and feel truly part of something special.
We produce one show each year, with auditions being held in March and rehearsals starting shortly after. While we hold a general audition, we aim to accept everyone - space permitting - as it’s as much about meeting the team as it is about showcasing ability.
Whether you're an experienced performer or stepping onto the stage for the first time, Wickersley Youngstars is a place to learn, grow, and make lifelong memories.
